Tui Digital
Google Ads Management for New Zealand Businesses
NZ Google Ads management with in-house research, client-owned accounts, fixed fees, clear tracking, landing pages, and no long-term lock-in.

Google Ads managed around customers, not clicks
Google Ads can put your business in front of someone at the moment they search for what you sell. That makes it one of the fastest ways to test demand, generate enquiries, sell products, or reach customers across New Zealand.
It can also waste money quickly when the targeting is loose, the tracking is incomplete, or the page after the click does not answer the customer’s questions.
Tui Digital plans, builds, and manages Google Ads campaigns in-house. You work directly with the person doing the research and making the changes. We look beyond clicks and dashboards to ask the more important question: are the enquiries turning into the right customers?

What makes our Google Ads management different
Your research stays in New Zealand
Keyword tools can show search volumes. They cannot fully explain how a customer in Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown, or a smaller New Zealand market describes a problem, compares providers, or decides who to trust.
We do the campaign research and management in-house. It is not handed to an offshore fulfilment team or passed from a salesperson to someone the client never meets. Local context matters when choosing search terms, writing ads, excluding irrelevant traffic, setting locations, and interpreting lead quality.
AI can make parts of campaign building faster, but it does not replace this thinking. The valuable work is understanding the business, its margins, its customers, and which searches deserve the budget.
You own the account and the data
Your business should own its Google Ads account. You should be able to log in, see what is happening, retain the campaign history, and take the account with you if the working relationship ends.
We explain the account structure and give you visibility rather than making the setup deliberately difficult to understand. Over time, you should become more informed about what the campaign is doing, not more dependent on an agency to translate it.
A fixed fee agreed before we start
Our management fee is fixed according to the agreed scope. We do not take a percentage of your advertising budget, and your ad spend is paid separately to Google.
Before work begins, we explain what we will do, what it will cost, what Google will charge for the media budget, and what may need a separate quote. A landing page, complex ecommerce feed, or additional tracking may require more work, but that is discussed before it becomes a surprise invoice.
No long-term lock-in
Campaigns need enough time and data to judge properly, but a client should not be trapped in a long contract while receiving irrelevant or poor-quality leads. We would rather keep the relationship healthy through useful work, direct communication, and results the client can understand.
We teach, not hide
Some small businesses need full management. Others need help building the account correctly, learning the essentials, and gradually taking on more of the day-to-day work themselves.
We can explain what the searches, keywords, negatives, budgets, conversions, and reports mean so you can make informed decisions. If learning to manage parts of the campaign helps keep costs sustainable, we are comfortable supporting that.
Is Google Ads suitable for your business?
Google Ads is suitable for many businesses, but the answer depends on the audience and the economics rather than the platform alone.
It is often a strong fit when:
- People already search for the product, service, problem, or category.
- A new customer is valuable enough to support the cost of acquiring them.
- The business can answer enquiries and follow up promptly.
- The offer is understandable and competitive.
- There is a useful page to send the visitor to.
- The business wants to test a market, location, product, or service with measurable demand.
It may not be the best first move when almost nobody searches for the offer yet, the margin cannot support paid acquisition, the business cannot handle more enquiries, or the website makes it difficult for visitors to act.
If the fit is weak, we say so at the beginning. The better first step may be improving the offer, building a landing page, fixing tracking, creating demand through another channel, or strengthening the website before buying traffic.
Work out what a lead can be worth before setting the budget
A cheap click is not automatically a good click, and an expensive lead is not automatically a bad one. The useful number depends on how often leads become customers and what a new customer contributes to the business.
A simple starting calculation is:
Target cost per lead = affordable customer acquisition cost x lead-to-customer conversion rate
For example, if the business can afford to spend $400 to win a customer and closes one out of every four qualified enquiries, its initial target cost per lead is $100. That target still needs to account for margin, repeat business, cancellations, sales time, and lead quality, but it is more useful than choosing a budget because a competitor spends the same amount.
We use these numbers to decide what can be tested, which services deserve priority, and whether the campaign has a realistic path to profit.
Google Ads campaign types we manage
Search campaigns
Search ads reach people actively typing a relevant query into Google. They are often the clearest starting point for services, software, high-intent products, and businesses testing whether existing demand will convert.
Shopping campaigns
Shopping campaigns show product information to people comparing items online. Product feed quality, pricing, stock, categories, images, shipping, and the store experience all affect performance.
Performance Max
Performance Max can reach customers across Google’s inventory from one campaign. It can be useful when the account has reliable conversion data, suitable creative assets, and clear commercial goals. It should not be used as a reason to stop checking where the budget goes or what kinds of customers it produces.
YouTube and video campaigns
Video can introduce a product, demonstrate software, explain a more considered service, or keep the brand visible while customers compare options. The message, creative, audience, and measurement plan need to suit an earlier stage of the buying journey than a high-intent search.
Remarketing
Remarketing helps the business reconnect with people who have already visited, viewed products, or taken another useful action. It works best as part of a wider campaign rather than as a substitute for creating demand or fixing a weak offer.
Demand generation and wider Google placements
Visual campaigns can reach potential customers across YouTube, Discover, Gmail, and other Google surfaces. They can be valuable for ecommerce, tourism, software, and offers that need to create interest before someone searches. We choose these formats when they match the customer journey, not simply because they are available.
What our Google Ads service includes
Business and audience research
We start with the business model, products or services, locations, customer value, capacity, margins, previous results, competitors, and the actions a useful customer should take. Campaign decisions make more sense when those facts are clear.
Keyword, search-intent, and competitor research
We identify searches worth buying and terms that should be excluded. Negative keywords matter because they prevent the account paying for job seekers, research-only searches, DIY questions, unrelated locations, and other traffic unlikely to become a customer.
Campaign structure and ad creation
Campaigns and ad groups are organised around meaningful services, products, locations, and intent. We write ads that match what the customer searched and send them to the most relevant page rather than forcing every visitor through the homepage.
Budget and bidding decisions
We set an initial budget and bidding approach according to competition, available data, the value of a conversion, and how quickly the business wants to learn. Automation can help, but only when it is being trained on useful conversion actions.
Conversion tracking
Form submissions and phone calls are the most common conversions we track for service businesses. Ecommerce purchases, bookings, trial requests, demos, downloads, or other meaningful actions may be more appropriate for another business.
The goal is not to count every button click as a success. It is to measure actions that move someone closer to becoming a customer.
Landing-page review and development
The campaign cannot compensate indefinitely for a page that is slow, vague, or difficult to use. We review the landing experience alongside the ads.
When a better page is needed, Tui Digital can design and build it in-house. The work is scoped according to what the page requires rather than passed to another supplier for the client to coordinate. Our wider website design service covers larger site improvements and rebuilds.
Continuous optimisation
We monitor campaigns, review real search terms, adjust negatives, bids, budgets, ads, locations, audiences, and landing pages, and investigate changes in lead volume or quality. Most clients receive a monthly report, with direct conversations whenever they are needed.
The feedback loop most dashboards miss
An enquiry marked as a conversion in Google Ads may be a strong sales opportunity, an irrelevant request, a person outside the service area, or someone who never answers again. The dashboard cannot always tell the difference by itself.
We speak with the client about what happens after the form submission or phone call. Are the leads relevant? Can the team contact them? Are they booking, buying, or progressing? Are certain services producing volume but no revenue?
That feedback changes the strategy. We may tighten a location, exclude a search theme, change an ad, move budget between services, improve the qualifying questions on a form, or change the landing page. Optimising toward qualified customers is more useful than celebrating a rising conversion count that the sales team does not trust.
How much should a small NZ business spend?
There is no universal minimum. The useful budget depends on click costs, competition, location, search volume, customer value, and how quickly the business wants enough data to make a decision.
Around $500 in ad spend can be a practical starting point for a small business in some markets. A $100 test is possible, but in a competitive niche it may buy only a small number of clicks and provide too little evidence to judge the channel properly.
Google sometimes offers promotional credits to eligible new advertisers. Those offers have their own terms and should be treated as a bonus, not the foundation of the campaign economics.

Our Google Ads process
1. Fit and economics
We discuss what you sell, who buys it, where they are, what a customer is worth, what has been tried, and how the business handles enquiries. We will tell you if something should be fixed before spending more.
2. Audit or research
For an existing account, we review structure, settings, search terms, conversions, spend, ads, and landing pages. For a new account, we research demand, competition, intent, likely costs, and the most sensible first campaign.
3. Scope and setup
You receive a clear scope, fixed management fee, recommended ad budget, and explanation of account ownership. We build or restructure the campaign, tracking, ads, and supporting pages agreed in the scope.
4. Launch and learn
We check that ads, budgets, locations, and conversion tracking behave as expected. Early data is used to find irrelevant traffic, useful search themes, and issues in the customer journey.
5. Improve with the client
Campaign data and real client feedback are used together. We keep improving the account and explain what is changing, why it matters, and what should happen next.
Who we help across New Zealand
The national service is particularly suited to technology and software businesses, ecommerce stores, tourism operators, multi-location businesses, and companies serving customers across New Zealand.
Local trades and professional services often need more location-specific campaign planning. See Google Ads Christchurch or Google Ads Queenstown for those markets.
Google Ads can also work alongside SEO for New Zealand businesses: paid search can test demand and bring visibility now, while SEO builds longer-term organic reach.
Common Google Ads questions
Will I own my Google Ads account?
Yes. We recommend that your business owns its account, data, access, and campaign history. Tui Digital receives the access needed to manage it without making the business dependent on us.
Is the management fee included in the ad budget?
No. The advertising budget is paid to Google, while Tui Digital charges a separate fixed management fee agreed before work begins. We explain both amounts clearly.
Do you require a long contract?
No. We do not rely on long-term lock-in. We explain how much time and data a fair test may require, but clients should stay because the relationship and work are useful.
Can you manage an existing Google Ads account?
Yes. We can audit the current account, identify wasted spend or tracking problems, preserve useful history, and recommend whether it needs targeted improvements or a broader rebuild.
Can you build the landing page too?
Yes. Landing pages are designed and built in-house when required. The price depends on the page, content, design, tracking, and development work involved, and is agreed before we start.
Can you teach us to manage Google Ads ourselves?
Yes. Some small businesses cannot justify indefinite full management. We can explain the account and help you develop the confidence to manage suitable parts yourself while keeping access to support when needed.
How quickly can Google Ads produce results?
Campaigns can begin receiving traffic as soon as they are approved and live, but useful business results depend on search demand, budget, competition, the offer, the landing page, tracking, and follow-up. The early period is for learning as well as generating enquiries.
What if the leads are poor quality?
Tell us. Lead quality is part of optimisation. We review what people searched, where they came from, which campaign produced the enquiry, how the form qualifies them, and what happened after the lead arrived, then adjust the strategy.
Is Google Ads management the same as PPC or AdWords management?
Google Ads was previously called Google AdWords. PPC means pay per click and is the broader term for advertising where the advertiser pays when someone clicks. People searching for a PPC agency, Google Ads consultant, or AdWords management in NZ are often looking for the same core campaign service.
